Forge Welded Gratings – Lichtgitter

OVERVIEW

Gratings are fully resistance welded by generating heat at the metal interchange points of square spiral or round crossbars and solid bearing bars. As the forging temperature is achieved, the crossbars are pushed into the experience bars under high pressure and the materials are forge-welded simultaneously. Forge-welded gratings have an excessive load-bearing capacity and, due to the twisted crossbars, a high slip-resistance.

Forge Welded Gratings

Forge-welded gratings consist of spiral or round cross bars, which are pushed into the bearing bars under high pressure. They are entirely electrically welded.

They are mainly applied in the industrial sector as floorings, platforms and all kinds of walkways.

Forge-welded gratings with round cross bars

In individual instances, it may be beneficial that the cross bar is not twisted as in the standard version, but is adopted in round design. For these applications, specifically shaped round bars are homogeneously pressed into the bearing bars and welded.

The use of round bars reduces the adhesive or sliding friction so that a desired “sliding” is formed. Such special gratings are found, e.g., in shelving systems, on park benches or in façade applications.

Offshore-gratings

Offshore gratings have specially developed for use on offshore platforms.

In addition, round bars welded in the bearing bar direction reduces the bearing bar pitch so as the falling through of a test ball having a diameter of 15 mm was prevented.
